UNLIMITED STUDENT WATER BILLS
How a water bill usually works:
Your water bills cover the cost of getting clean, safe water to your home, and of maintaining pipes, sewers, etc.
-
If you’re on a water meter:
- All the water that goes into your home spins a wheel which measures how much water you’re using.
- You’re charged based on how much water you use.
-
If you don’t have a water meter:
- Your local water decides your water bill based on your home’s ‘rateable value’.
- In a lot of cases this was calculated 30+ years ago, and isn’t always up to date. It’s an odd system but it’s what we’re working with 🤷
Water bills are usually paid alongside sewerage rates which are…exactly what they sound like. There’s a huge system in place to take waste water away from your house, and part of your bill pays for that.
Including your water bills in your student bills package can make your finances easier. Tap the button to get a quote for easy bills next year.
