5 easy ways to make some extra money this summer
Summer is upon us and you might be in need of some cash to splurge out on takeaways, cute clothes and trips to Budapest with your mates next academic year. Not sure what to do? Hang on tight, we have 5 easy and innovative summer jobs for you.
Make a profit from your closet
How about you finally have the closet clear out that you have been telling yourself to do for so long and monetise the clothes you put away? There are plenty of people looking for a bargain online, on Depop, eBay or just through social media! Plus, you can have a good feeling about upcycling your precious possessions and giving them a new lease of life instead of throwing them into the bin. Think green! Try the KonMari method of tidying and get rid of anything that doesn’t bring you joy anymore. This way, you’ll be happier and richer - it’s a win-win situation, really!
Help out your neighbours
You don’t need to go too far to find some work in the summer. Search your neighbourhood and ask whether anyone needs any help around their house or garden. From window cleaning, painting, gardening work, to removals; there’s always something that your neighbour would rather pay to get done than do themselves. Your neighbours will be happy to help you out to some extra cash too.
This one can be super easy. As you well know, summer is everyone’s favourite season for holidays and so many flowers, pets and children are left needing some sitting and looking after. You can ask around or simply make flyers at home and distribute them in your area. Keeping it local will help as most people will be looking for someone reliable whom they know and can trust to let into their house when they’re gone.
Cash your talent
Have a think about what you’re good at. Whatever it is - singing, playing an instrument, dancing, photography, art, DIY - be creative and monetise it! Whether you offer to help out with local gigs, try street busking or start a little art gallery in your garage, go for it!
Make some money whilst exercising
If you have a bike and you don’t mind spending some time in the sun this summer, there’s plenty of opportunity to make some extra money by delivering food to others with job openings at Deliveroo, Just Eat and plenty of local restaurants. Whilst we understand you would probably rather eat the food yourself than delivering it to others, getting fit whilst making money seems like a great job to us!
So what’s it going to be? Chilling at home or making some money?
